## MATH WIZARDS

so in my math exam I had this as a question:

-x²+x-12

we had to find the x intercepts, y intercepts, turning point and then plot it on a graph.

so liek I tried to turn it into the (x+4)(x-3), but then when I plotted it, the x- intercepts were untouched.

so are there any x intercepts for this equation or not, because I wrote "none" for it...?

Wonderful tool if you don't have much to work with and don't feel like working things out.

Answering the question though, no, it doesn't look like the parabola ever touches the X axis.

## Re: MATH WIZARDS

Did you use the quadratic formula to calculate the x intercepts? Maybe they call it something else in the states/canda it's the:

x = (b±(b^2 - 4ac)^0.5)/2a

Either way you got it right. Though if you didn't state why you may lose marks.

I also had a math test today. Mine sadly was a bit harder. I had to prove by induction a couple of sequences. It was easy as hell, but I managed to fuck up the last part of the first question....(Forgot my power rules).

both x-ints are complex, so no, you wouldn't use them when you graph.

also, you factored it wrong...(its -x²)

also, you factored it wrong...(its -x²)

www.wolframalpha.com is a great tool that my old math teacher used a lot to supplement her lectures. Then again, she also enjoyed their actual program mathematica to make awesome visuals, but that program can also be used to make pretty pictures, solve complex equations, or even make a game. My friend made a really laggy, but functioning FPS featuring recoil, bullet drop, damage multipliers based on hitbox, and other random bullshit. Way better than CA jajajajajajaja

Seriously, who plays CA anymore?

I get my fun by doing math all day and pretending it's an FPS.

Fun x1000.
