it looks pretty decent to me. it's death room (fast movement) after all, so Youtube's bitrate can't keep up.
the only thing that would probably improve the video quality would be filtering.

I mean the first guy I get a headshot on, you can see the player, but there's really no detail.
It's just a blob almost. I don't see how YouTubes bitrate is the problem, when j00sei's is a lot better, and I can actually see details with his. My original is about the same quality as his 720p.

I just render it at Sony Vegas' default WMV 720p setting.
The only things I change are:
1. Up brightness and contrast a bit
2. Set sharpen to somewhere between .15-.25 depending on how much is needed
3. Set framerate to 30

Are your settings in CA maxed, and what's your recording res.?

Maxed settings in CA, and I record at 1920x1080 half size (960x540) resized to 1024x720 @100fps

you can't really compare death room to short fuse. look at the amount of flat surfaces on short fuse, then compare it to death room.
but a problem i noticed with your vid is that it looked like it was upscaled or something. there's like black edges around your text. my vid was upscaled (from 1024x600 to 1280x720), but it didn't have that problem.
also, i would imagine having anti-aliasing on during gameplay to help with compression. jagged edges tend to turn into a huge mess, or simply a bitrate hog.

another thing, bloom is another setting that would probably help compression. bloom is basically a color level readjust + blur.
i was looking up how to recreate the effect on AviSynth/MeGUI, but its too much for me at the moment D=

Does this look any better than the last one?
Also, I lagged a lot recording, so inb4 terribad aim
Lag wasn't that bad, so if this is horrible, I can try fullscreen, or put CA on 1280 then record at half-size
Why the hell isn't [youtube] working?
Just click it, then.

Looks a bit better than the previous.
I'm recording at half-sized 1280x1024 with this
How can I stretch the video so it won't look like crap, to get rid of the black bars, and what should I render it as? Keep 720x480?
